Adoption Matters attend Chester Pride 2023

Local children’s charity and voluntary adoption agency, Adoption Matters, based in Chester and Warrington, joined the crowds to take part in the 2023 annual Chester Pride event on Saturday 19th August, celebrating inclusion and diversity.

Several members of the Adoption Matters team represented the charity and participated in the parade, waving Pride flags and handing out their very own Adoption Matters branded sweets to the crowd .

Also joining them was Laura and Mandy, one of their adoptive families, as they continued their work to spread awareness within the LGBTQ+ community.

The latest statistics from the Department of Education show that 1 in 6 adoptions were by same-sex couples.  Just over 10 years ago, this statistic was 1 in 31.
