How you can support us

There are many ways in which you can support our charity, one of them being to make a direct donation.  We welcome all donations, however big or small.  Every penny is used to provide essential support for children and familiesTo give you an example of how your funds raised can help:

  • £5 funds a toy for young children to play with at a contact session
  • £35 funds at teddy bear empathy doll, designed to help strengthen a child’s bonding through sensory stimuli
  • £100 provides a place for an adoptive parent on a therapeutic parenting training day
  • £400 provides an adoptive family a full consultation session with our adoption professionals
  • £1,000 provides a parenting programme, training workshop or online course for a family in need

Celebration Giving – Many people celebrate special occasions by choosing to ask for donations to Adoption Matters instead of gifts, flowers and cards. If you would like to do this we can offer you donation envelopes that you can send to guests, or leave on a table. They can choose to Gift Aid their donation which will add an extra 25p to every £1 donated, with no cost to you or them.  Contact us at to advise your full requirements

Gifts in Wills – You can make a real difference to the lives of many families by leaving a gift in your Will to Adoption Matters. Gifts can be big or small – we appreciate every single one. We simply couldn’t continue to provide all our services without the generosity of our amazing supporters who leave us a gift.

Legacies of all sizes are a vital source of funding for Adoption Matters, helping to ensure we can continue to care for our children and our families, both now and into the future.

Gift Aid – Gift Aid is a scheme run by the UK Government whereby if you are a UK taxpayer and you donate money to us we can claim tax you have already paid on the amount of the donation. This means we get up to an extra 25p for every £1 you donate to us – and it costs you nothing!

All you need to do is fill in a simple Gift Aid declaration form below.

There are rules that must be followed.  For instance, we can only claim on your donations if you are a UK taxpayer and if you are donating in your own right. You must also have paid enough income tax or capital gains tax in the past year to cover the amount we claim. We cannot claim Gift Aid on donations you have made and received something in return i.e. tickets for an event. We also cannot claim Gift Aid on donations left in a Will.

UK Challenges

3 Peaks Challenge – 9 Aug 2019 – 11 Aug 2019

This charity challenge needs no introduction! From the scenic Glen Nevis Valley to the picturesque Snowdonia National Park, join our team and conquer some of the UK’s giants on this classic 3 Peaks Challenge – Ben Nevis (Scotland), Scafell Pike (England) and Mount Snowdon (Wales).  More info at:


TrekFest – The Beacons – 6 July 2019

Register now for the ultimate UK trekking challenge – Trekfest. The aim of this epic trek across the Brecon Beacons in South Wales is simple – complete your chosen distance of 25 or 50km whilst making the miles count. Suitable for beginner trekkers and expert trial runners alike, taking on Trekfest is by no means a walk in the park. Tandem Skydive – Tilstock, Whitchurch, Shropshire 

Saturday 19 October 2019

  • Registration fee: £50

Here’s your chance to fulfil the dream of a lifetime! The Tilstock aircraft will take you to up to an incredible 10,000 feet, nearly 2 miles in the air. Check out the amazing views over the Shropshire countryside on the way up before sliding to the edge of the door attached to one of the team of instructors. Freefall for up to 30 seconds before the parachute opens at about 5000 feet above the ground – and enjoy!!

We ask all of our skydiving bravehearts to raise a minimum of £400 in sponsorship to help Adoption Matters support our children and our families. Our skydivers jump for free and will receive fundraising help and support from us right up until the big day. We’ll also be there at the airfield to cheer you on and wave from the ground!

Please read the following important information: Due to weather conditions, skydives are subject to last minute cancellations and delays when the weather is not suitable or safe for jumping. Please be prepared that you may have a long wait and if your jump is cancelled entirely, then it can be rescheduled to suit you.

Please note that the minimum age for parachuting is 16 and the maximum weight is 15 stones (95 kg) FULLY CLOTHED and not overweight for your height. Please check the height/weight chart and the medical restrictions here. You will be required to sign a medical declaration and may potentially need sign off from your doctor before jumping if you have certain medical conditions. The maximum age for Tandem Skydiving is 70. Anyone under 18 must have the written consent of a parent or guardian.
