Adoption Matters, is delighted to receive a donation of £1,000 from The Llay Estate Charity, which is administered by St. Mary Without-the-Walls Church in Handbridge, Chester.
Pictured, Adoption Matters Chief Executive, Susy White, with St. Mary’s Without-the-Walls Church volunteer, David Gilburt, who presented the cheque, along with a personal donation of nearly £40 from his own home.
A lovely and generous idea, that David and his wife, Diana, keep a spare change jar in their home, and donated the proceeds to Adoption Matters.
“This donation is a small way that St Mary’s and the Llay Estate can recognise the great work that Adoption Matters does with adoptive children and their families,” shared David.
Adoption Matters is proud of its Christian roots and work within the faith community – whilst originating from a Church of England background, the charity now operates independently of the church; however, its ethos and values continues to inspire their work and they retain strong links with Dioceses across the country.
Adoption Matters’ Fundraising and Relationship Manager, Annie O’Neill, commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to receive such a generous amount from The Llay Estate Charity. We value our relationships with many churches, including St Mary’s, as we work with to raise awareness of adoption.
“A huge thank you to The Reverend Dr. Richard Patrick Whaite of St. Mary’s, and our supporters David and Diana Gilburt, for their continued support; it was so very kind of them to donate personally to our charity.
“This money will help support many more families through their adoption journey and beyond.”
This generous donation will go towards more adoption support for adoptive families, children, adopted adults and birth families.
