Supporter Katie-May Williams, age 24 from Conwy, wanted to do something to raise funds for local children’s charity and voluntary adoption agency, Adoption Matters, so she set herself a very tough task…to walk 21 miles from Colwyn Bay to Bangor in just one day.

On Saturday 1 October, Katie-May completed her amazing challenge, with the support of her friend Samantha Jones (both pictured above), walking 21 miles in just over 7 hours.

Katie-May said after achieving her goal: “I cannot believe it!! A lot of aches and pains but it is all worth it for such an amazing charity.

“Lucky enough for me I found my forever family at the age of 3 months old and will be forever grateful. Supporting a charity that is close to not only me but my family is something I have wanted to do for a while, and I wanted to raise enough money to make a difference to children and their new awaiting families.”

Katie-May smashed her £400 goal and has raised £515 so far with the donations still rolling in!

Adoption Matters Chief Executive, Susy White, commented:

“We are so grateful to Katie-May for taking on this challenge which she kindly put together herself. The money she has raised really will make a difference in helping us support more children and families. Thank you.”
