  • Who love the outdoors
  • Patient, kind and consistent
  • Loving, warm and affectionate

And who:

  • Embrace and accept Marcus for the amazing boy he is and celebrate his achievements

All about Marcus

Marcus is living alongside a 13-year-old teenager and they get on well together. Marcus is always excited when she returns home from school, he hugs her and they play with the Duplo together, building towers and knocking them down. The foster carers also have their grandchildren visiting regularly who are 10 and 11yrs old, Marcus loves playing football in the garden with them.

Marcus is energetic, curious and he enjoys being on the go and loves being outside, on his balance bike or other ride on toys, in his paddling pool, going for long walks and loves going on the bus!

  • Marcus is in a really good routine with his foster parents, which helps him to feel safe and secure.
  • He eats and sleeps really well and his favourite meal is Bacon, sausages and eggs.
  • Marcus lives alongside 2 dogs in his current foster placement, he is caring and gentle with them, loves stroking them, and playing in the garden with them chasing them around.
  • Marcus also recently visited the Deep and a local zoo and he loved looking at all the animals and fish.

Marcus still enjoys getting involved in helping around the house, picking the carers shoes up and passing them to her when they are going out, putting things in the bin and cutting up bits of food when its tea time.

Marcus continues to enjoy water play, he loves having baths and playing with his toys in the bath. He also loves watering plants.

Marcus also loves to watch the TV when he is at home, he engages well with cartoons and Mr. Bean.

Marcus is a little boy who wants to learn and thrives from adult interaction and support. His foster parents explain that he has a ‘thirst for knowledge and will soak it up as he has an inquisitive mind’. Marcus is able to say some words and parts of words, he can now say “yeh”, “no”, “pea” (for please), “ta” (for thanks), and counts backwards saying 3,2,1 and will point to things to make his needs known or take your hand and show you want he wants. He can also understand what is being said to him and follow basic commands.

Marcus foster parents said the best thing about looking after Marcus is he laughs and giggles a lot, we love seeing him get excited and he is very affectionate and loves cuddles. He loves his Duplo blocks and looking at books, we ask him to find the animals in the books and he enjoys pointing them out and practising the animal noises.

Marcus is an independent little boy who is motivated to learn how to do things himself such as put his shoes on.

He started school in September and is currently attending part time whilst extra support is put in place. He is a very active and curious little boy who can quickly move between activities. His foster parents have found that he is starting to be able to focus for longer periods of time and can now sit and listen to a story book.

Marcus is awaiting an assessment around his limited speech, as well as an assessment for autism. Marcus is now fully out of nappies day and night which is a real positive for him.

His foster parents are so proud of him and are amazed by the things that he learns and achieves every single day and they say he is a happy and excited little boy

Marcus will bring a huge amount of love and joy into any family’s life.

Marcus had a difficult start to his early life, but since moving into foster care, he has benefitted immensely from having a consistent routine with lots of play and encouragement. Marcus was initially placed with his sister however, their combined needs resulted in him having a number of moves in his early life.

Adoption Allowance

A means-tested adoption allowance will be provided to Marcus’ adopters for a minimum period of two years following placement. This will be discussed with any potential families in more detail at enquiry stages.

 What does Marcus need?

We are looking for individuals, couples or families, with or without children, who could offer Marcus all the love, support and care he needs to help him continue to thrive.

Marcus has an older sister and it is hoped they can keep in contact throughout their lives so adopters would need to support this.
