Leading adoption agency, Adoption Matters are delighted to have placed 57 children with their forever families and approved 47 new adoptive families between April 2017 and March 2018. The agency presented its achievement report at their AGM on 3 September 2018.
Significantly, 40% of the children placed were part of a sibling group which mirrors the current high demand for adopters for siblings to enable them to stay together.
The achievement report also highlights their fourth ‘Outstanding’ rating by Ofsted during the year, making them the only adoption agency in the North West to achieve this accolade.
Chief Executive Norman Goodwin, CBE commented: “The past year has been both challenging and exciting. We believe children’s outcomes are central to the successful operation of the national adoption system. We seek to do our best for the users of our service and are often overwhelmed by the many positive and complimentary comments we receive.
However, we still know there are still over 2,500 children waiting for their forever family through adoption. You don’t need any special qualifications, we provide full training and ongoing support. What you do need is the time, energy and love to give children a loving, stable home”.
