Adoption Matters are delighted to have placed 76 children with their forever families between April 2016 and March 2017.   The agency presented its achievement report at the AGM on 13 September 2017.

This is the is highest number of children placed by the agency since 1967, itself a significant year in adoption history. Significantly 49% of the children placed were part of a sibling group and 74% were placed on behalf of Local Authorities whom the agency works in partnership as part of the Regional Adoption Agencies.

This year the agency celebrates it’s 70th anniversary in which they have placed over 4,000 children in their history and supported many more including birth parents and adoptees.

Chief Executive Norman Goodwin, CBE commented: “Three words, 76 children placed, cannot fully describe the hard work of all the dedicated staff and panel that played a part in each piece of the jigsaw, or the journey taken by the prospective adopters in fitting the jigsaw together.

However, we still know there are still over 2,000 children waiting for their forever family through adoption.  You don’t need any special qualifications, we provide full training and ongoing support. what you do need is the time, energy and love to give children a loving, stable home”.
