Adoption Matters Charity Garden Party raises money to support more adoptive families

27 July 2023

Our event was hosted at the beautiful Ashton Grange gardens

Adoption Matters, a children’s charity and one of the largest voluntary adoption agencies in the UK, welcomed children and families to their Charity Garden Party on Sunday 16th July in Chester.

Families enjoyed their picnics in the grounds and woodland of the beautiful Ashton Grange in Ashton Hayes and the afternoon of fun included an animal workshop from Zoo2U, where the children got up close and personal with a skunk, a royal python and a kookaburra to name a few.

Children and young people then took part in Forest School sessions lead by Budding Minds, this was a chance for them to develop their confidence and self-esteem through learner inspired, hands-on experiences in the natural setting of the inspiring woodlands.

Visitors also were invited to explore the meadows, woods, and gardens of the venue so kindly offered by owners Kate and Martin Slack, who are big supporters of our charity.

Another key cog in making the event happen was Brownlow Furniture, who very generously sponsored it.

Adoption Matters Chief Executive, Susy White commented:

“It was a wonderful day and it was now our third event at the beautiful Ashton Grange. It was so lovely to see the children and their families enjoying workshops, and discovering new experiences. Thank you to our kind hosts Kate and Martin Slack, and to our sponsors Brownlow Furniture, who both helped to make this event happen”.
