As 2021 draws to a close, I find myself writing a similar message to last year’s, looking at how difficult the last year has been for us all. Again, by this time of year, we have usually shared many events with families including our carol service, concerts and Christmas parties. Sadly, this year we like everyone else, have been unable to offer as many events as we would have liked.
We have been so grateful again for the generosity of our supporters, volunteers, partners and friends in supporting us and our work this year. The continued dedication of our staff never fails to impress and inspire.
All families but especially our own families, have shown great resilience in these ongoing unprecedented times. We are all hoping again for a brighter year in 2022 and of course, Adoption Matters will continue to be here for you when you need us.
As you many of you already know, this is my last Christmas and my last message to you as Chief Executive at Adoption Matters as I retire on Christmas Eve after 36 years with this outstanding agency and children’s charity. I would like to personally thank everyone I have been associated with these past 36 years, especially our families and children, some of you are now very grown up!
It just leaves me to say, that from all of the staff, volunteers and Trustees here at Adoption Matters, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a safe, happy and healthy New Year.
Kind regards
Norman G. Goodwin, CBE
Chief Executive
