Adoption Matters, children’s charity and one of the largest voluntary adoption agencies in the UK, virtual Teddy Bears’ Picnic and story time this Saturday 4 July is being supported by the Team at BBC North West Tonight, Roger Johnson, Annabel Tiffin and Owain Wyn Evans and actor and comedian, John Thomson.
Adoption Matters, like everyone in the UK right now, is dealing with the impact of Covid-19. The health and safety of their staff and families is paramount so their planned Teddy Bears’ Picnic on 4 July has gone virtual!
They are asking you to grab your favourite Teddy Bear and pack a picnic for a Teddy Bears’ Picnic at home. As well as asking you to have your own favourite story book at the ready, the charity is delighted that some very special guests will also be reading stories on the day. These will feature on their website from 3 July.
Adoption Matters Fundraising & Relationship Manager, Sarah Johnson commented:
“We are so delighted at the support we have been given by our guest story readers including the team at BBC North West Tonight, John Thomson and some more special guests, we cannot wait to share their videos of them reading some fantastic stories.
In addition to our amazing contributors, we have some great resources to share with families including downloadable colouring in sheets, bunting and recipe ideas. To take part in the picnic, we are asking for a minimum donation of just £3 per family with all proceeds helping our important work in supporting more adoptive families across the UK”.
The charity is asking families taking part to share their photos / videos of their picnics with them using the hashtag #AMTeddyPicnic
