Leading adoption charity and adoption agency, Adoption Matters are part of five regional adoption agencies across the country including Adoption Counts. The regional adoption agencies (known as RAAs) are groups of Local Authorities and voluntary adoption agencies coming together with one single purpose – to place children waiting for adoption with their forever family without delay.
The Government states that, at the moment, adoption is happening at too small and localised a scale. One study showed that in around 1 in 3 cases, children were left waiting longer than necessary due to reluctance to look outside their immediate area for the right family – a further delay to a life full of love and stability.
The regionalisation agenda was introduced in 2016 and we are delighted to be part of the following 5 RAA groups working in partnership with the shared aim of placing children without delay and offering enhanced support.
Regional Adoption Agency: Adoption Counts
Regional Adoption Agency: Adoption NoW
Regional Adoption Agency: Together for Adoption
Regional Adoption Agency: Adoption in Merseyside or AIM
Regional Adoption Agency: One Adoption
