Adoption Matters Chief Executive, Norman Goodwin CBE commented: “Commemorating our 70th anniversary is important to our charity in remembering our past, celebrating our achievements and looking forward to our future. Our aim has remained consistent throughout our history which is:

That children’s welfare and needs are paramount and we aim for them to grow up in a secure and loving family who will best meet their long-term needs and who can help them to reach their full potential.

The agency, which was formerly known as Chester Diocesan Adoption Services & Blackburn Diocese Adoption Agency, has placed over 4,000 children and continue to grow, innovate and offer a high quality service to all of their adoptive families and  children.

Norman Goodwin continued: “The Twitter campaign is a fun way of sharing some of our history, historic pictures, adopter stories together with fun facts from the forties. We are also asking our audience to engage with us by sharing their stories. We would love to hear from anyone who has connections with our agency by using the #adoptionmatters70 or indeed any businesses who may want to connect with us to help us achieve our future goals”.

The agency is are also marking the anniversary with events for families throughout the year and have also created a section of their website dedicated to their history, available to view here www.adoptionmatters.org/our-history/
