Fundraising & Relationship Manager

Salary: Up to NJC Scale 33 (£29,323) FTE

(Full-time or Part-time -Minimum 22.5 hours)

 

Adoption Matters is a registered children’s charity and an independent adoption agency approved by Ofsted. We are a not for profit organisation who work across local authority boundaries to provide a consistent high quality support for adopters and adopted children. We are the ONLY adoption agency in the North West to have been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted for the last four consecutive inspections.

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Business Development & Marketing function of the agency in this new post of Fundraising & Relationship Manager.

 

Generating income & raising awareness of Adoption Matters through a wide range of relationship building and fundraising activities.

 

The key priority for this role is to secure, develop and maintain quality relationships and partnerships with companies and organisations across the regions covered by Adoption Matters’ activities. The post-holder will develop opportunities through these relationships to secure sponsorship funding and other benefits for the agency (for example: staff fundraising, payroll giving, charity of the year partnerships, fundraising events, donations of cash and/or goods & services and cause related marketing). The role will also include making contact with high net worth individuals to develop funding and sponsorship opportunities, legacies and donations.

 

*The post is initially fixed-term for 2 years. Extension beyond this will be dependent upon the successful candidate achieving the following income targets, or showing significant progress towards doing so within that period:

 

  • Securing sufficient income to cover the post-holder’s salary and on-costs.
  • Achieving a minimum return of £2 for each £1 costs for expenditure on fundraising activities.

 

This is a new position within the agency but will support and develop existing partnerships. The post-holder will need to be able to identify and prioritise opportunities, pitch and secure new business to meet agreed targets (initially within the northwest region but potentially expanding to cover parts of Yorkshire & Staffordshire / West Midlands). The post holder would also lead on specific corporate fundraising initiatives for the whole charity and oversee and attend events when necessary.

 

The successful candidate must be willing to work some evenings and weekends as required and be able to travel around the North West region and occasionally further afield in developing opportunities.
