Salary: Up to NJC Scale 41 (£36,379) for Child Care Award
The Centre for Adoption Support offers a wide range of support and training services for adoption and permanency. The service was established in 2013 as a partnership between two long established charities and specialist adoption agencies, Adoption Matters and Caritas Care. The two agencies together have over 140 years’ experience in working with Local Authorities across the UK to find families for children in care and provide adoption support services.
Both agencies are rated as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted and Adoption Matters was named Voluntary Adoption Agency of the year by British Association of Adoption and Fostering (BAAF now known as CoramBAAF) in 2012 & 2014.
As a member of staff within the Centre for Adoption Support you would be joining an experienced and supportive group of Adoption Practitioners all of whom continually strive to provide adoptive families with a tailored package of support. We are a partnership service delivering support not only to our families but also to those adoptive families referred to us from Local Authorities within the region. The Adoption Support Fund has enabled families to access targeted interventions which we aim to provide in a timely, planned and sensitive manner.
You would be required to liaise with professionals within Local Authorities, in time Regional Adoption Agencies, health and education. You would also be expected to cover a large geographical area, though we are mindful to limit travel time through careful allocation of work.
Our aim is to offer adoptive families a range of services within a graduated support model by providing a broad base of support services in advance of accessing the therapy service.
The successful candidate will hold a Social Work degree or equivalent and will be registered with HCPC. You must also have experience of children’s social care work. An Enhanced DBS check will be required.
Adoption Matters are members of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
